#HighlySensitivePeople: Are You And Others Doing Their Best?

Being the highly sensitive person perfectionist that I am, I get extremely frustrated when I’m not maximizing my talents and abilities or when I’m not working at peak efficiency.

In a similar vein, I get upset when others aren’t giving their best. I bristle when I receive poor service or a lackluster response from a person who is being paid to help me. I get angry when I hear about the latest scandal or blunder that our political leaders have committed. I get even angrier when I realize that I, and all the other taxpayers, will pay for their mistakes. I get distressed when I look at the current economic state of the world. (more…)

#HighlySensitivePeople: Are You Narrow-Minded or Broad-Minded?

What kind of person are you, narrow-minded or broad-minded? As a highly sensitive person, I would hope that I’m broad-minded, but sometimes I need to question myself. If asked, a large majority would no doubt consider themselves to be broad-minded, but objectively, would they all really be? You might not be aware of it, but could you be manifesting the trait of narrow-mindedness. (more…)

#HighlySensitivePeople: Do You Have Too Many “Should’s” In Your Life?

Do you have too many “shoulds” in your life? Do you find yourself or others saying to you…You should do this, or You should do that?

Why should you have to do anything? Shouldn’t you be free to do what you want and not be bound by what you and others think you should do?

As highly sensitive people and or/introverts, it seems to be a natural inclination for us to put other people’s needs ahead of our own. Why is this so? Have we conditioned ourselves to think that our needs are somehow less important? (more…)
