I participate in many highly sensitive person, empathic, introverted, and people who have social anxiety and/or shyness online groups because I have all of these characteristics. Highly Sensitive People: Do You Need Some Uplifting Words?

As a highly sensitive person, I’m trying to find anything that will uplift my mood and give me hope during these troubled times. I recent heard a song on the radio that did just that! The song was “I Can See Clearly Now”, a #1 hit, written and recorded by Johnny Nash. Originally released in 1972, it achieved blockbuster success in the US and the United Kingdom. This song was later recorded by many artists throughout the years, including versions by Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. (more…)

Highly Sensitive People: How Can You Increase Your Self-Awareness?

Highly sensitive people have the unique ability to improve their self-awareness, by that I mean you can re-acquaint yourself with past experiences and emotions. How did you get where you are now? What can you do to get to where you want to be?

When looking back on your life, look at the positive experiences that you’ve had and what you’ve learned from them. Write them down and refer to them often.

We can all learn and grow from our negative experiences. As painful as they may be, take the lessons learned and use them as building blocks to growth. Don’t use your negative past as an excuse to not move forward in your life.  (more…)
