#HighlySensitivePeople #Introverts: Is conventional wisdom…actually holding you back?
Most people don’t question the rules they live by.
They follow what’s familiar.
What’s approved.
What everyone else seems to believe.
But here’s the uncomfortable truth:
A lot of conventional wisdom is just conformity in disguise.
It isn’t deep.
It isn’t earned.
It’s often just recycled advice… passed down without thought.
Highly sensitive people are different.
We’re not built to live on autopilot.
We notice what feels off.
We sense when something doesn’t fit.
We’re wired to ask:
Is this true… or is this just common?
And there’s a big difference.
So let me ask you something:
How much of your life is based on your own inner knowing…
…and how much is based on what you were told you “should” be?
Many of us are still carrying beliefs from childhood—
labels, criticisms, careless comments—
as if they were facts.
But what if they were never true?
The familiar path may feel safe.
But sometimes the familiar path is just the most crowded one.
And sensitive people weren’t meant to shrink themselves to fit the crowd.
Sometimes real wisdom begins the moment you stop asking:
“What do people expect of me?”
…and start asking:
“What do I know is true for me?”
Is conventional wisdom guiding you…
or quietly keeping you stuck?
If this resonated with you, someone you care about might need it too. Don’t wait—share it with them now. A few words at the right moment can make all the difference.
