Are friendships important? How many do you need? I personally don’t need alot of friendships, but a few different kinds of them. Here are some thoughts to think about:

Why are friendships important?

  • Studies show that people who have friendships live longer and have happier lives.
  • They can be positive support systems.
  • They are sources of satisfaction and joy.
  • They provide companionship.
  • You can share your feelings in good times and bad.

Do you take time out to have fun in your life? Do you engage in activities that re-charge your emotional and physical batteries? While we all need playtime, most of us have a little voice in our head that is chock full of excuses as to why we shouldn’t indulge ourselves.

#HighlySensitivePeople: Do You Hate “Selling” Yourself?

Do you hate “selling” yourself? It’s definitely a challenge for me! At first thought…Who likes to be “sold to?” On further thought…We’re all selling something, aren’t we? Selling is a form of communication that highly sensitive people need to learn. We also need to listen to those who try to communicate their message to us. Why not learn from others who are good at selling?

There are many ways that selling affects our lives. Here are some examples:

  • Selling yourself to yourself. It’s important to sell yourself to yourself. In order to make the best impression on others, it’s necessary for you to feel good about yourself. The way you feel radiates outward, and you’ll attract things into your life that match the energy you put out. Building up one’s self-esteem is a lifetime pursuit. #HighlySensitivePeople: Do You Have Too Many “Should’s” In Your Life?

Do you have too many “shoulds” in your life? Do you find yourself or others saying to you…You should do this, or You should do that?

Why should you have to do anything? Shouldn’t you be free to do what you want and not be bound by what you and others think you should do?

As highly sensitive people and or/introverts, it seems to be a natural inclination for us to put other people’s needs ahead of our own. Why is this so? Have we conditioned ourselves to think that our needs are somehow less important? (more…)
