I’m writing this post with a heavy heart and am crying as I write this. On Monday morning, our family cat and loyal friend, Prissy, was euthanized in our home. My family and I decided that this was best for her.  She was a very important part of our family. She was 19 1/2 years old and had serious health issues. There are many things that my family and I can be grateful for… she gave us many joyous moments and companionship, and her lack of suffering when her health was declining. That depends. There are many potential motivations behind guilt. Is the guilt being used to motivate you to do something good? Is it being used to make you feel bad about a mistake you made? Is it being use to get you to do something for someone else? This is a very complex question!

For some people, guilt can be a powerful motivator. For others, it can be a drain on their energy and a preoccupation that keeps them from moving forward. #HighlySensitivePeople: Is shyness something to overcome?

Shyness is a feeling of insecurity and extreme awkwardness around others. Who at some point in their lives hasn’t experienced this? It becomes a problem when it interferes with one’s day-to-day functioning. If shyness is a part of one’s being, it doesn’t have to be something that has to be overcome. It’s a trait that should be embraced and utilized.

Shyness isn’t some terrible obstacle. It’s not something that you cannot work with. I have many shy characteristics.  I refuse to see it as something to be ashamed of, it’s not a negative character trait. The world may see shyness in a poor light, but it shouldn’t affect the way we see ourselves. If we feel good about ourselves, who cares what anyone else thinks? (more…)
