Do you blush? I do! Very easily I may add. Any number of emotions and physical reactions can set it off. It’s embarrassing sometimes, but I’ve learned to live with it. My blushing can come at a moment’s notice. I can’t prepare for it, it’s a natural reaction for me. Here are some ways my blushing manifests itself:

  • When I feel overwhelmed. Feeling overwhelmed is a natural occurrence when you go above your emotional and physical limits. I use blushing as my natural barometer to take a break and rest. (more…)

#HighlySensitivePeople: Do You Ask For What You Want?

Our pets are pretty good at letting us know when their needs are not being met, but what about you? Do you ask for what you want? Or are you the type of person who feels that you can solve all of your problems yourself? Do you tend to assume that others can read your mind when you want something? As a highly sensitive person, I instinctively try to handle all situations myself and believe that others know what I’m feeling and wanting. .

Over the years, I’ve been working on releasing some of these self-defeating beliefs. After all, they never make the situation better and only place more stress on my already overactive nervous system. (more…)

#HighlySensitivePeople: Do You Suffer From Analysis Paralysis?

I know that this is an odd question to ask a highly sensitive person! It’s really not!  How often do you take on a task or have to make a decision and worry that you’re going to make a mistake? Does this keep you from doing things? Being the self-conscious and highly sensitive person that I am, I often feel this way.

I have found that worrying too much about results weakens me and makes me less efficient. It’s so energy draining! I used to have the bad habit of thinking that everything in life depends on how “one thing” turns out. Can you relate to this? (more…)
