Everyone has difficult times. We can’t avoid it. It’s a part of life that we need to accept. Sure we highly sensitive people feel more than others, but it shouldn’t be used as an excuse to feel or be down more than others.

Ill-health, losing a loved one, unemployment, various traumas, either past or present, or misfortune of any kind will rear its ugly head at some point in our lives.

It’s normal to feel hurt, sad, angry, fearful, or whatever else your feeling. You can’t deny your pain. It doesn’t help your situation. The old saying…”Whatever you resist persists” is definitely true. (more…)

#HighlySensitivePeople: I Have Some Very Sad News!

I’m writing this post with a heavy heart and am crying as I write this. On Thursday afternoon, our beloved cat and loyal friend, Charlie, was put to sleep. My family and I decided that this was best for him. He was a very important part of our family. He was 16 1/2 years old and had serious health issues. There are many things that my family and I can be grateful for… he gave us many joyous moments and companionship, and his lack of suffering when his health was declining. #HighlySensitivePeople: Do You Have Enough Alone Time?

Do you have enough alone time? A common theme among us highly sensitive people is that we enjoy being by ourselves. It allows us to have quiet time, which can sometimes be essential to re-charging our emotional and physical batteries and honing our creativity.

Would you like to feel better about yourself? Do you take your talents and gifts for granted ? If I were to ask you to list your strengths and weaknesses, you’d probably list more weak points than strong ones. Why are we so critical of ourselves? Could it be that we assume that if something comes easy to us, it’s not a valuable skill or strength?
